Winchester Model 1876 Second Model octagon rifle, serial #8179, chambered in .45-75 with a 28-inch barrel and single set trigger. The receiver retains 50–60% original blue mixed with some patina and common high-point edge wear. The original thumbprint dust cover fits snugly, and the screw-on rail is original. The barrel has 40–50% mixed blue and patina; the supplied description notes a couple of small places with "blood spots". The fore-end cap retains some nice original blue, and the sights are original Winchester style. The barrel address and tang marking are strong and crisp, and the hammer and lever retain some mottled, ghosted case color.
